You need to use node 0.10.48. You can use node version manager to install this easily

Using nvm 0.10.48 still fails for me on [email protected] install: 'node-gyp rebuild'
Please try re-running "sudo apt-get install build-essential" again. This usually corrects these errors for me.

I'm getting this error as well. What are we missing here? I'm running through a clean install again, apparently it's just a problem with package versions.

@Grimm2017 Please ensure that you have installed all of the dependencies as outlined in the README.
@dp-unique Glad this solves it for you. We are going to create an all in one installation script for easier installation at some point in the near future.
