I will like to be able to use mkBlender for building certain (non stable) blender, like nightly or a custom branch and mkBlender should work fine if I just change the url and hash.

Sound does not work in Blender VSE. I tried putting in audio strips into the video sequence editor and no sound is playing during playback. GNOME does not pick up Blender playing sound.

When installing blender using this derivation (at least when I copy the expression into plain nix to avoid the flake bug #1), I don't get any .desktop file, meaning that I can't easily run it from my desktop manager. It would be great to add one.

The purpose of this repo is, according to the description:

Nix expressions for proprietary software

but we have proprietary software in nixpkgs. So i don't see why these should be an exception.

There are some -bin packages in nixpkgs and another option is NUR.

So i think it makes sense to close this repo and move everything of worth to a better known place.

First, thanks for this up to date repository. Unfortunately, I can't make it work:

$ nix run blender-bin#blender_3_1

Any idea what I may be missing?
