1. Do not install vlc, libsigsegv-devel and libbinutils-devel
2. unpack sources

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Following directives found into the INSTALL page, the configure process should
stop with error due to missing dependencies.
Currently the configure proccess ends succesfully with two not-blocking errors
about sigsegv.h and bfd.h (as shown into the attacched output)
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
ardesia-0.9 on Mageia 1 (stable) and 2 (development)
Please provide any additional information below.
I can compile and make ardesia succesfully even if these dependencies are
missing. I would want to know how I can handle this behavior.

Ardesia becomes slightly unusable because it won't ignore my status bar, so it
will write in this region and not let me do normal things, like switch to
different workspaces or choosing different windows, which I normally do through
my status bar (in the window manager dwm, which comes with its own status bar).
I think this could be easily solved by allowing users to selectively disable
certain applications from being affected by ardesia, the way the program
Easystroke does (another program written for tablet PC users, by Tom Jaeger).
For instance, I have excluded my dwm status bar from Easystroke gestures by
clicking Preferences, "Add Exception", and then clicking the status bar.
Hopefully, similar functionality can be added to Ardesia.
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Try clicking on the status bar (in dwm; this program may or may not exist in
other window managers/desktop environments)
2. Ardesia will treat this program like any other part of the screen, making
the status bar unusable.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I would prefer Ardesia to ignore my status bar.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
The latest subversion in ArchLinux 64-bit, on a Fujitsu T900 tablet PC.

freezes.
Pressing the power button is the only way out of the frozen screen.

window, right?) seems to solve the problem temporarily - I can then draw

In windows you can attach with vlc an input slave to the master only of the

this post
http://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=58200
in this way you can grab the audio and video without use a slave device
passing these option to vlc:
dshow:// :dshow-vdev="UScreenCapture" :dshow-adev ...

Anyway I have not found a way or a tool to make a cross plattform screencast

1. Start the ardesia
2. paint
3. try to click an ardesia button inside the bar
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to push the button but the pointe is locked
I have investigate on the problem and this is cause
The new code that use the leave_notify_event
from the ardesia bar such as signal
to become to paint does not work
in my machine
I have debugged the code and in this machine
a lot of leave_notify_event are generated
even if the pointer is inside the bar
To workaround this problem that can caused by a wrong use
of the windows or by a gtk bug
I have reputted the wait_out_bar code in annotate.c
Than we have two scenarios
1) The machine emit rightly
the leave_notify_event
the annotate.c check that
the position is right
and start to annotate
2) The machine emit worongly
an leave_notify_event
and ask to annotate.c
to grab, but annotate.c
see that the pointer is
inside the bar and continue
to loop waiting for the
moment in which the pointer
will be outside the bar
Only at this moment will start
to annotate
In any case is important investigate
about the strange behave of
the leave_notify_event because it can depend
on a wrong window handling
This is only a workaround to solve
fastly the problem

Before I found your excellent project, I had developed some simple scripts
to send gconf commands to compiz annotate, allowing me to connect a second
wii remote (via xwii) to change the available (limited) annotation options.
This worked quite well, and it was rather fun to clear the screen by
shaking the remote!
Your project is far superior to what I had set up, but it would still be
nice to be able to use a remote for basic functions, which would require
some sort of command interface to ardesia.
Thanks for sharing your work!
