I was never able to figure out who has the beerjs.slack.com account, and as far as I can tell it's inactive. Probably the best course is to pick a different subdomain and then set it up and let everyone know.

Do you think it would be possible to contact with Slack admins so that they
remove that account? If, as you say is inactive, we could show them that
there exist an active community in Github that wants to use the same id in
Slack?

So I am not going to be setting up auto invite right now/ Too much to do. If anyone wants to jump on that let me know. Until then just post your email to this issue and I will add you to the channel. You can then invite whoever you want to it

I am in the middle of a Parse catastrophe. I will try to look at the slack invite repo but it may be next week. If anyone wants to take a peek and comeback with some cliff notes.. Yeaahhhh that would be awesome.
