I'm having the same issue with Arch+Plasma. The icon disappears from the task tray, and the only way to restart the app GUI is to kill the openvpn process.
If you try to just reopen Eddie without killing that process, the app will error with "processes already running".
On the exact same system/OS using Cinnamon as the desktop there have been zero issues with the icon.

Confirm that, looks like something leaking in GUI. I will attach some logs to this issue when it's will happen again.

Upgrading to the latest version fixed this for me. Are you still having the same problem?

Actually I'm not anymore too, maybe because I'm building Eddie locally now from the sources with my system Mono (its Gentoo)
