The goal of this project is to design an automatic sun-tracking system for conversion of maximum solar energy at all time of daylight. The solar panel has been used increasingly in recent years to convert the solar energy to electrical energy. Since the sun is moving from east to west, it is not possible to generate maximum power at one position. This system is proposed to produce the maximum power by aligning the solar panel always at maximum sun’s incidence. When the sun sets, the panel will move back to east position to wait for the next morning. The solar movement tracking is achieved by attaching the solar panel to two motors, one controlling the x-axis and the other controlling the y-axis. This operation is achieved by programming a microcontroller to control the rotation of the motors.
